I did a search and saw several similar questions but no answers for this problem. I have a free event where people can register, but I don’t want people to re-register with the same email address. Right now, some people seemed to forget they registered and are doing it again, thus taking up space. Is there any way to prevent this? Thanks.

Do you require users to log into your site or are the event registrations open for all to register?

No, I do not. I saw posts where if you did have people log in, there was solution, but nothing if people didn’t have to log in to your site.

Currently, we do not have a feature to block registrations based on email address without the WP User integration add-on and requiring users to sign in to the site.
It would likely be possible to do but will require custom development to hook into the registration process and check for a current registration on the event using the submitted email address, then halt the registration and display an error message.
We currently don’t have any examples of doing this other than the above add-on.
