Prevent a person with the same email from being registered again by anyone

People are able to register multiple times with the same email address. If one person registers 5 people and then one of the five registers by themselves then they get registered again. Can we restrict or add a notification that the email has been registered already?

Anyone checking this? I see some things from years ago. Any snippet I can add to the functions file?

Hi there,

Apologies for the delayed reply.

Currently, the only method we have for doing this is using the WP User integration add-on and forcing the user to log into the site before registering onto an event.

A snippet like this: https://gist.github.com/Pebblo/10669adfeea322ade3d96a38857fb46b

Can then check if the current users EE_Contact has a registration for the current event and remove the ticket selector from that event to prevent them registering again.

It sounds like you want this based purely on the email address used and checked after the registration has been submitted, is that correct?

I’m not aware of any snippets which can do this currently.
