We operate a skydive dropzone that offers tandem jumps. We are looking for a system that integrates with WordPress that allows the client to make a down payment but not necessarily pay in full and have the option of booking a video person to jump with them as well. The tough part is that we need for them to be able to book multiple times in one transaction. for instance they want to book a jump on 6/14/13 at 6:30 with a video and another on 6/15/13 at 9:30 am. Is this something that Event Espresso can do? Is it also possible to add a t-shirt purchase etc? Lastly does the whole amount due go into a shopping cart for final payment? This would allow the purchaser to go back and add t-shirts hats etc. Could I demo this? What modules would we need? Cost?

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris,

How are you today?

In general, you’re kind of pushing the limits on Event Espresso with those requests, but we do have plans for making those features more available…so in reply:

1 – We don’t have a partial payment option. You could create a deposit ticket option for the event, but when they checkout Event Espresso will recognized they are paid in full. If someone purchases that ticket the website admin will have to modify the payment record to reflect a balance due and send the customer an invoice to complete their payment later. Does that make sense?

2- With the Multiple Event Registration addon (https://eventespresso.com/product/espresso-multiple/) they can book multiple events at a time. Those separate days would need to be different events.

Event Espresso is not necessarily to add items/products to an event registration out of the box. Currently the workaround for this is to create an event for the additional items you would like to be included and use the Multi Event Registration add-on to add an add-to-cart link (https://eventespresso.com/wiki/multiple-events-registration-use-add-to-cart-link-instead-of-default-registration-form/) for those additional items. An example of this is available here: http://eetesting.info/3.1.josh/?page_id=4&regevent_action=register&event_id=1191

After you’ve added the other item(s)/donation as an event this is how you’ll add the items to the description of your main event and add these as additional option:

[ESPRESSO_CART_LINK event_id=”1191″ anchor=”Register for This Event”]

[ESPRESSO_CART_LINK event_id=”1189″ anchor=”Add a T-shirt”]

[ESPRESSO_CART_LINK event_id=”1190″ anchor=”Add a Sticker”]

Does that kind of help? Like I said, we plan to build a deposit and simple shopping cart function in a later version of Event Espresso 4.

Hello Jose,

The Ticketing add on (available with the Developer licence, or separate with the Business or Personal licences) provides a scanning system for tickets.

It does not use Bar Codes, it uses QR codes.

Hello Dean

Thanks for your reply.  Just to make sure, I can buy a personal license + the Ticketing Add On and I will be able to create a list of attendees and scan the QR codes on the invitations to check attendance and verify tickets .  Will this add on allow me to print the actual QR labels or do I have to use a different app to print them?

Which App should I use on an iPad to work with this list of attendees created with my personal license?

Thanks again.

Jose

Dean

Reading my post I just want to clarify my question regarding the iPad:

I mean which app should I use to scan the QR codes at the entrance of the event on an iPad or iPhone to connect with the guest list and validate the tickets?

Thanks

Jose

Hi Jose,

You should use the Event Espresso HD iOS app with the JSON API installed.
