Hi Guys,
I’m the webmaster over at http://www.spellboundart.com which is a Art Class studio that holds nightly painting classes.

We currently use WP Events Manager and have been for the past year, but we are now finding it’s just not meeting enough of our needs so I started searching again and came accross Event Espresso which looks great.

However, I do have some questions I was not able to answer using the demo. We do a lot of Groupons, Living Social type offers as well as sell Gift Certificates which are just promo codes as well.

In our current system we are able to limit our discount codes to 1 usage since we only like our clients to be able to use their gift/discount code one time. I did not see this feature in the demo? How can I achieve this result in event espresso?

Another nice feature that we currently have is the ability to print out our attendee list from the backend, I see various export options in Event Espresso but no simple printout option, did I miss it or does it not exist.

The print is obviously not that important, but I’m really curious as to my coupon codes question.

Thanks guys! looking forward to switching.

Hi Philip,

There are two discount code systems in Event Espresso, the default promotion codes that come with the core plugin and the Social Coupons add on (formerly Groupon addon).

The promotional codes are not limited to one time use, but can be limited to specific events, so if a user signs up to one event ten times then they can use the code each time, but if they try to use it on a different event it wont work.

The Social Coupons works slightly differently in that each code is a one time use only and can be used on any event that has been marked for Groupon (we havent changed all the names over yet to avoid too much confusion in the changeover).

Regarding the print out, unfortunately no, the only option is to export it to spreadsheet, format as needed and print.

Thank you for the quick response Dean.

So I think I understand, we can use the standard system for general coupons we offer to the public such as 15% off! or something.

Then The Social Coupons system I can use for Groupon and our Gift Certificates as they are 1 time use only.

One more question about that, are the discounts specific to 1 ticket or the total overall order? Or will I be able to specify that?

Thanks again!

Hey Philip,

Yes thats right.

The discount is on the whole order, the social coupon/groupon is on the item in question
