Dear,
We’re considering in purchasing eventespresso however we’ve got some needs/questions.
We want to use it for an event with admin approval of attendance done by several contributors.
We also want to use it by scanning an entry code at the entrance or by searching on name. We also want to use it for training classes at the same location on different times and no duplicates may occur.
We’re doubting because how can we avoid duplicates, what with no internet connection, how can the scanning occur (only iPhone/iPad and android or also through a PC)
How about the different admins to approve attendance?

Hi Bob
How are you? Lets get these questions answered.
We want to use it for an event with admin approval of attendance done
by several contributors.
If you mean that when an attendee registers for the event, then that registration is paused until an admin approves it? Then yes Event Espresso has that ability.
We also want to use it by scanning an entry code at the entrance or by
searching on name.
Our Mobile app can scan a QR code on a printed or eticket. It also allows search by name.
We also want to use it for training classes at the same location on
different times and no duplicates may occur.
Multiple events is not an issue. Regarding “duplicates” I am assuming you are referring to a person using a ticket for event A and trying to get into event B? Or trying to use a ticket multiple times? When the ticket is scanned it is marked as checked in and cannot be used again (unless it is a group ticket, in which case it will become unusable after being scanned for the number times = to number of group members.

Our mobile app does require an internet connection yes. The scanning is only from mobile devices running iOS or Android, with the capability to scan QR codes.
How about the different admins to approve attendance?
Yes with the Roles and Permissions Basic you can set up other users to have admin level access to the site.

Thanks for this prompt reply, is it also possible to check people in by wordpress and not only with the mobile app? We’re going to use it abroad and maybe the internet connection can be lost, therefor can we also do a printout of the registered persons?
Which version do I need? I suppose the business license.

Hello Bob,
Yes, it is possible to mark people as Attended in the WP dashboard, but this still requires an internet connection to send the information to the database.
Yes, you can export a list of registered attendees from the Event Overview area of Event Espresso.
You will need the Business License in order to utilize the ticketing functionality.
