Permissions Pro: Does this plugin allow for some users to be setup as ‘Sellers’ in which the user can specify their payment method? For example, a user could setup their event(s) and payments made through the booking would be sent to a specific user based payment method.

I’m looking for a utility that will allow certain users to ability to create their events and receive their payments, but manage their bookings through the plugin/site. It would allow a shared attendee list for the site owner, but still allow the organizer to receive a percentage of the sales.

Can Event Espresso do this?

Thanks for your time and attention.

Hi there,

Thank you for contacting us! We appreciate your interest in Event Espresso.

We don’t have functionality that allows you to collect a percentage of sales from a user. We do have a feature that allows you to add different Stripe of Paypal accounts to specific events. This is done through the meta fields.

Let me know if you have anymore questions. I’ll be happy to answer them.

Hey! Thanks for the quick response. To be sure I understand. Each event can have it’s own Paypal account associated with it?

So for example, a fellow Organizer could have access/permissions to edit his created events, and all the sales from that particular event could go to his Paypal account?

While another event’s sales would go to my Paypal account?

I assume that the non-admin user could register and be given a level of permission to create/edit/enable/activate/ and otherwise control an event they made. Is that true?

Possibly one final question. Would the attendees for both of our events would be view-able in some sort of overall attendee data list? As well as separate lists for each of our separate events?

By separate events, I mean potentially separate locations and months.

Thanks for your time and attention. I’m on the verge of getting this, ha.

Yes. Separate Paypal accounts can be used for individual events. Please note that this does not work with the Multiple Event Registration add-on. Attendees cannot register for 2 events that go to separate Paypal accounts.

Yes. With the Roles and Permissions add-on, that is included in the Business and Developer license packages, or can be purchased separately with the Personal license package, you can allow registered users to add events.

Yes. You can export attendee data by individual event, or by all events.

Note: I am referring to Event Espresso version 3 here.

Jonathan, thanks so much for your time on this. I thinking I’m coming to a close on this.

Is the capability to create my above mentioned situation/setup self explanatory once Event Espresso is installed? Is there any guidance documentation on the topic, both either simple or any complex configurations needed?

You mentioned “meta fields” and while I’ve read (only once) briefly on this capability, is there specific Espresso guidance if I need to use this method to create my configuration?

The thing is, that I’ve been sort-of burned before on getting great initial help, but then the support drops off after the purchased is made. So I have cold feet…

Thanks again for your time and attention,

Hi,

I completely understand. We have a global support team that is pretty quick to respond. We also have extensive documentation on setting up things like the above configuration. Once you purchase a license, you will receive access to the support forums as well as the documentation for the plugin and add-ons you purchase.

Let me know if you have anymore questions. I’ll be happy to answer them.

Hey Johnathan.

I’ve purchased the Business License. It seems that only the Roles and Permissions Add-on Pro will allow users to create and edit only their events.

There is a Role that allows an Espresso Master Admin, but that allows the user to add/edit/change anyone’s event.

Do you now what the permissions are for the Event Managers in the Pro version? Should I ask this question in the Pro Support area?

Thanks again, Overall I’m super impressed with this plugin and it’s abilities.

Hi,

Roles and Permissions Basic, adds an Admin level user that can still be restricted to use certain parts of Event Espresso.

Roles and Permissions Pro adds a couple more roles, but the main one being the Event Manager. This is not an admin level, but can be given full or select access to the Event Espresso menu. They are also limited to seeing only events that they have created (they cannot be assigned events).

Please do let us know if you need clarification or have any more questions.

Ok, that’s the best explanation I’ve seen so far. The quick blurb on the Add-on page is not very explanatory to me. https://eventespresso.com/product/espresso-permissions-pro/

And the Documentation, while helpful in a mechanical sort of way is somehow lacking in in a bit further explanation. At least for me it seemed lacking of the info you just provided.

If I could make a suggestion to add more situational explanation to the Add-on pages or documentation, as that’s been my difficulty it seems.

I realize that EE might not want to be too specific with examples as to imply only one way to use the add-on, but I could have used your previous post as it makes quite a bit more sense to me.

Thanks for all the quick responses.
