Despite how polished and complete your products seem, I may be looking for a feature that you have no reason to provide. Here goes … we would like to capture multiple scans of the same code, and in fact know how many times the code was scanned. FOr example, to track participants completion of different tasks. Also, the ability to export the “attendee” data to XML via an extension … is that in place and functional?

That’s about it … everything else about the product seems good to go.

Hi Craig,

I am not sure what you mean by “multiple scans of the same code”. I am assuming your are referring to the QR code on the ticket?

If so then the code has the number of tickets embedded in it , and will reduce that amount by 1 each time it is scanned. Often this is just the once.

It does not tracked the number of scan counts after that point.

Attendee data can be exported to CSV format only currently, though there are plenty of ways to convert that data to XML outside of Event Espresso.

Hope that helps but feel free to ask for clarification.

Do I understand by your response that a ticket (QR code) can be created
with a number of permitted scans, allowing the participant to enter into (say)
5 events?

And do I further understand that the system will show the number of scans
remaining / unused?

If so this responds completely to our needs in that regard.

Final question … if i were to scan the ticket without your app, with which
I understand that I log in to the event before scanning, I assume that the
scan would have no impact on the system. Is this correct?

Thanks,
Craig.

Hi Craig,

“Do I understand by your response that a ticket (QR code) can be created
with a number of permitted scans, allowing the participant to enter into (say)
5 events?”

If the user purchases five tickets (and importantly without providing data for the additional attendees) then the ticket will contain the ability to be scanned 5 times.

If the user registers 5 people but provides details, each person will get an individual ticket, which can only be scanned once.

“And do I further understand that the system will show the number of scans
remaining / unused?”

Yes

“Final question … if i were to scan the ticket without your app, with which
I understand that I log in to the event before scanning, I assume that the
scan would have no impact on the system. Is this correct?”

If you mean that you would scan the ticket with a generic QR code scanner, then that would have no effect as it isn’t tied to your website and the ticketing software. Only the app will register the ticket as being scanned.

Hope that helps, but if not please let me know.
