September 17, 2014 at 10:09 am Hello, I just have a few questions before potentially purchasing this plugin (it will be the E3 PRO version I will be buying, so these questions are based on that functionality) 1) Have a calendar for bookings? 2) In the Pro version (where a user can add and manage their own events), can the user also customise their page i.e background colours, header/logo etc? 3) Have an area of event options that the user can select when they are adding their event? 4) Can there be an image area (which consists of multiple images) that a user can choose from when adding their event? i.e 4 table layouts that a user would choose from to display on the front end Kind regards, |
HI Adam, How are you today? 1) Sure, the calendar is part of any EE3 support license. |

Hello, Thank you for your response. To outline roughly what I am planning, I am going to set up a website which will be an event management website. I want people who have an event coming up to be able to create an account on my website and be able to submit their event and manage that event. I was previously told from another member of support staff that with the pro version of E3 this would be possible, but users wouldn’t be able to submit their own events with the basic version? Yes, there may be 4 different table layouts to choose from and I would like this available to the users (who are managing their events) to pick their layout so potential attendees know how it will be laid out. Is this possible? Kind regards |

Hi, Original discussion: https://eventespresso.com/topic/does-ee-meet-my-project-requirements/ Regarding 2) Users will need to have a specific role (normally either Event Manager or Regional Manager) provided by the Roles and Permissions plugins (basic and pro both required here). They can then add events and manage them from the back end. There is an addon plugin that can allow (basic) events to be submitted from the front end but that does not allow managing them from the front end. In respect to customising a page, if I understand right you want their event listings to be specifically designed. The only way I can see that happening is if you create a Page for them with a shortcode to display events from a specific category and advise them to use that category on events. E.g. Bob’s Events would get a unique category called bob, and a page would have the main shortcode linking to that category, so only Bob events would be listed on that page. Being able to modify that page would be outside of Event Espresso’s control, I’m not even sure you can give that granular level of control with role specific plugins either. 4) Not easily, though I suppose it could be customised. While Event Espresso can certainly do some of what you are asking, the finer details may require manual work from yourself and/or customisation of EE and/or a custom plugin to achieve more automation. This is because, while you can certainly allow users (with a certain role) to add events, it is not specifically what EE was designed for so there are limitations in that area. |
