Hi guys,

I’m planning to build an event directory website and I would like to offer my users the possibility of managing their own events, i.e. each user could post an event as well as accessing a management area where they can see which users registered for their events and eventually ticket sales.

Does your plugin, eventually with some add-on is able to handle this? I understand it is possible for users to post their events but is it also possible for them to manage regisytrations?

Best,
Ricardo

Hi there Ricardo,

This sounds similar to an event marketplace and Event Espresso does not work well for that use case.

One of the main issues is accepting a fee for each event or ticket sold and then sending the remaining funds to a different merchant account. That isn’t supported.

If you won’t need to deal with payments, then this may work by using Event Espresso 3 + the Roles and Permissions add-on.

Each event admin could receive their own account and would be able to manage and create their own events.

Hi Lorenzo,

OK, the payment is not an issue because it will work through an intermediary anyway.
Do I understand correctly that with EE3+ Roles and Permission I can assign an account for each user who can then create and see who has registered for their events. That would be perfect.
Does this work through WP backoffice or is there a friendlier user interface?

Do you have a demo site where I can test how it looks and feels?

Best,
Ricardo

Hi, we have documentation for that add-on:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/roles-and-permissions-basic-add-on/

Each user would receive a role of event manager and they would login to the WP dashboard.

If you had event manager ABC and event manager XYZ, then they would not be able to edit each other’s events.

If you needed regional event managers (one step above an event manager), then the Roles and Permissions add-on could be used:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/roles-and-permissions-pro-add-on/

Our demo does not let you access the settings for the add-ons above but I can grab some screenshots and clarify any additional questions.

Let us know. Thanks

Lorenzo
