Hi, we are thinking about using this plugin for a WordPress build and have a couple of client requirements that I hope this system covers.

If EventEspresso only covers a few we may have to customise a little (or a lot), but any feedback on these requirements would be very VERY useful:

  • Ability to send out emails to invite customers to events
  • Secure user based sign up, i.e. only the person who was sent the email can sign up.
  • Users will only be able to see the events to which they were invited
  • Everything must be hidden behind a log in
  • Reports will be required, I.e. number of sign ups, conversion over invites, amount of monies collected (if we take that option, see below)
  • Integration with our email provider API (were looking into options)

We also have a few features that are optional:

Microsoft Dynamics CRM integration
– We will get our CRM provider to provide the integration piece so we would have to provide an API in order for them to do this Secure payment options
– We also need to have the option to generate a PDF invoice to send to the client
– Some clients may choose to pay by invoice only
– We might use the invoice functionality in Dynamics here so it may be provided via the API
– If we integrate with Dynamics we would process invoice payments via this method so there is a possibility that data may be passed back to the app

Hi Jon,

I’ll answer your questions in order:

  • We don’t have a function to send large email campaigns. We are integrated with MailChimp (other integrations could be added like Constant Contact) so you can send campaigns from there and get better deliverability than from your WordPress site. You can also get better analytics from them too for a reasonable price, maybe even free.
  • We don’t have that function, and I’m not sure if there are any plugins to do that.
  • You’ll probably want to use a membership plugin to hide all the pages for only certain registered users (EE doesn’t control the view of pages). We do have the WP Users Integration (https://eventespresso.com/product/espresso-members/) addon that will only allow website users to register for an event, but other people will still be able to view pages.
  • Some of the reports you describe are available, but the integration with reports for the mailing list would have be built.

We’re are investigating the need/option of providing an API for each site. Any special requests/needs there?

We only have HTML invoices right now.

We have an Invoice Payment option which you can use to give attendees instructions to pay by invoice.

You can write gateway integrations or we can do it for you. But the integration has to be done so that Event Espresso can be notified of the payment .

Any other questions?
