Hi, I have a question about registering attendees as Wp users. I want attendees to be able to register an account in which they can edit there own profile and see which courses they registered to. I was looking at “WP User Integration” but the documentation is only accessible when I buy the add-on (quite frustrating as I would like to read about it’s functions before buying) My question: How can I read the user docs without buying the add-on. I jut need to check how things work and if this add-on meets my specifications Thanks, Bart |

Hi Bart,
I am assuming what you mean is “Is it possible for an event registrant to register themselves as a WP User at the same time as registering for the event?” If my understanding is correct then the answer is yes and no. No, WP User Integration does not do this by default. Yes, it can still be done as we have a small PHP function that can be dropped into a custom functions file (theme or elsewhere) that will register the attendee as a user. Yes. With the WP User Integration addon active, attendees can cancel their tickets from the My Events page in their Profile. We also have a shortcode that can be added to a page to show the My Events data on the front of the site (only when logged in). A cancelled spot will be added back to the event capacity.

Hi Dean, Thanks for the clear feedback. However I need some more material to discuss the possibilities with my clients. I need this material to build trust with my client that the system I present them with is the system that’ll work for them. Having the documentation locked down cripples my client trust building process I just can’t say, I haven’t read any documentation or seen any screenshots myself, but Dean from Event Espresso told me that it’ll work. I’ll need some more material to discuss the possibilities with my clients to build trust with them, so they sign off on paying for the license. So please bear with me and please provide me with some documentation & screenshots of how things work and look like in the front end and backend. Your answers looks like it’ll cover the specs they have, but it’s just to little for a business discussion. Thanks for understanding, Bart |

Hi, I do understand. Here are some screenshots. Members section on the event – http://take.ms/LUjMw Documentation wise, there really isn’t much to it. Events can be set to member only, so unless a user is logged in they cannot even register for the event. Each event will have Member prices, which need to be set, so if a user is logged in they will see those prices instead of the “public” ones. The My Events section is available in the users WordPress dashboard or on the front end via a shortcode. If the user fills out their profile the data will be autofilled into the registration forms so long as the user is logged in (name, email and address only). I hope that helps. |
