I’m considering purchasing your product to process registrations for an event that would require pre-authorization of registrants. I see that you have this functionality, but I’ve been experimenting in the demo site and can’t seem to find it anywhere. Am I missing something, or have you disabled it?

Hi Ken,

The setting for that is in Event Espresso > General Settings > Optional Event Settings and it is called “Enable attendee pre-approval feature?”.

It should be available on the demo site, but if not let me know and I can talk you through the process/answer any questions you have

Hi Dean,

Thanks for getting back to me. I still can’t find this on the test site. I am on the Event Overview Page, but it does not appear in the Event Options sidebar. When I log in, there is no General Settings page available to me.

This is an essential function for me. I will be running an event which will have several discount codes that could possibly be shared with people not authorized to use them. It would like to be able to look over everyone’s registration before they sign up.

I was very much hoping to see what the experience would be like for a potential registrant so that I could ensure your product is right for me. Do you have any pre-configured example out there? If not, can you tell me more about the process?

Thanks,
Ken

Hi Ken,

I have made a brief video for you here explaining the pre approval process. http://youtu.be/0HpWKNmF0eA

If you have any other questions, just let me know.

Wow Dean, that was really great! Thanks so much! A couple other questions. Can I only invoice people that I approve? If I were to set up credit card processing, could approved participants be directed to a payment page instead?

The clients that I work with currently uses eprocessingnetwork.com as their gateway. I know that is not one of the gateways that you have built into Event Espresso, but eprocessingnetwork has an Authorize.net emulator that they say can be used with systems that use Authroze.net. Have you ever heard of someone actually implementing that emulator with event espresso?

Thanks so much for your kind help.
Ken

Hi Ken,

Thanks, it was a bit rough and ready but hopefully helped.

With the Pre Approval aspect, the attendees are not invoiced until you hit that button.

When the “invoice” is sent, an email is sent to the client, the default is

<p>Dear [fname] [lname],
<p>Our records show that we have not received your payment of [cost] for [event_link].</p>
<p>Please visit [payment_url] to view your payment options.</p>
<p>[invoice_link]</p>
<p>Sincerely,<br />EE 3129.1</p>

the shortcode [invoice_link] makes a link to a page where they can see their outstanding balance. There is an option in the General Settings to turn on having the payment options there (it’s off by default for some reason) so the users can then select payment and well, pay.

I have heard of the emulators but I haven’t seen much or any feedback regarding to how easy/successful they are to implement with Event Espresso, so sorry I cant be much help on that.
