When enabling “create a post for this event,” the post category option is ignored. The post is created successfully, but the posts always appear as “Uncategorized” in the posts list and the checkbox selected on the event creation page doesn’t stay checked.

Hello Bri,

I have tested this and can’t recreate it. What version of EE and WP are you on?

The latest of both. I am testing it on a clean install of both WordPress and Event Espresso. I can provide login details if needed.

Okay. If it works on a clean install, try to rule out any plugin conflicts in the install with the problem. Deactivate all non Event Espresso plugins and test to see if the issue is still occurring. If it is not, then we know it is a problem with another plugin. You can then find out which plugin it is by reactivating each plugin individually and testing to see if the problem starts happening after the activation. When it occurs after activating a plugin, then we know this is the culprit.

It doesn’t work on a clean install.

What I am saying as I am testing on a clean install and I still cannot get it to work.

Hi Bri,

May we log into the site so we can investigate further? If so, please send WordPress admin level log in credentials via the contact form on this page: https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

Form has been submitted. Thanks!

Hi Bri,

I was testing this by duplicating an existing event and it was working. So, I tested it by creating a new event and found that it seems to be broken. I submitted a ticket to have our developers fix it.

In the meantime, you can reopen the event, choose the category again, and it should stick when saving the second time.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Going in and saving it again (through Event Espresso) doesn’t work for me. Re-saving it through the post interface does though.

That is correct. I added that information to the ticket.

I’m having this same problem. New version, clean install, no plugin conflicts. Category won’t set in post except to default “uncategorized”. Thanks for your assistance.

Yes. We have recreated this issue and turned it into our development team for a fix. I currently don’t have an ETA of when it will be fixed.
