Possible to have a post-event page just for attendees?

I’m assessing this plugin for an upcoming project and it looks great BUT I need the ability for users who’ve paid for and attended an event to be able to log in and see a page after the events (with photos, audio etc from the event). this page isn’t to be available to anyone other than attendees.

Is this something that’s possible with this plugin or any of the available add-ons? I haven’t seen anything as yet. Don’t mind customising the site to add this but I’d prefer a plugin that can deliver this out of the box. If not, is there any alternative anyone can recommend?

Much appreciated

Hi Simon,

Restricting access to a page for a select events attendees, isn’t possible currently.

However you could look at using a plugin like S2Member or another content restriction plugin, in conjunction with event Espresso. That way a certain page can be restricted depending on user level.

Thanks for the reply, that’s a shame. Content restriction by user level isn’t really going to help my situation as the content needs to be restricted to attendees of a specific event rather than a particular user role so it looks like I’ll need to develop this bespoke.

Hopefully this will appear in a future version as it’s a real shame that the plugin covers almost everything you would want as an event manager but this would be a really good addition. It must be quite a common request for there to be follow up information after an event for attendees?

Hi Simon,

We do offer content restriction with our WP User Integration add on, I didnt mention it as I dont believe it allows enough granular control for your situation as its a blanket membership coverage. So a member can see all member events and non member only public events, it can’t be used out of the box to restrict specific events to that events attendees only.

I will certainly add the granular control and event attendee functionality to our feature request list for possible inclusion in future updates.

The reason I mentioned S2Member, is that you can have an unlimited number of user levels (even with the same capabilities) so it would be possible to have a user level per event. The main issue in my mind would be including the sign up process within the overall purchase process.

It’s incredibly difficult to assess your product with the information available pre-purchase. I’ve installed the lite version and got access to the test drive but the information about the WP User integration add on is really poor. I can’t test drive it and it doesn’t tell me in the documentation so can you give me any information about what the WP user would see from their end? I gather they will see a list of events they’re registered for? Where does this list get presented? Is there a ‘My account’ page available in the site front-end where this is displayed? Do they edit their details here or are they directed to the WordPress admin (I hope not)

It would be really useful if you could add more information and screenshots to the various add-ons and features as it’s impossible to assess the product properly to make an informed decision on purchase.

If you could clarify the behaviour of the above plugin I’ll be able to determine how feasible it is to use this as the basis for the functionality I need.

Kind regards

Hello Simon,

Thanks for the feedback, I will get this discussed further with the team on how we can improve the pre-purchase information.

[can you] give me any information about what the WP user would see
from their end?

From a members perspective they don’t really see anything different with the exception of being able to see the member only events.

I gather they will see a list of events they’re registered for? Where
does this list get presented? Is there a ‘My account’ page available in the site front-end where this is displayed? Do they edit their
details here or are they directed to the WordPress admin (I hope not)

These questions are all related.

The list of members events are currently within their profile information in the WP dashboard screenshot. We are in the midst on working on a shortcode to display this information front end screenshot. This isnt ready yet but is nearing completion.

For the most part, especially when this shortcode is implemented, the user would only need to visit the WP profile to fill out their basic data (name, address, any other data you have requested) once.

That data is then used to prepopulate event registration details when they are logged in.

Using an additional plugin such as Theme My Login, would make the editing process appear to be front end rather than backend, but it is not a functionality that we have baked into our plugin.

Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Cheers,

Dean
