I am trying to determine the speediest way for checkout that we can do at the door of an event. Currently, we charge a card on a CC terminal and put a wristband on the attendee, no personal information is required. Is there an easy way through an add-on or other method for speedy sale of tickets at the door using the EE plugin for transaction?

And if we continue our current way of selling tickets at the door, how can they be added as attendee in EE for reporting purposes?

Hi there,

Is there an easy way through an add-on or other method for speedy sale of tickets at the door using the EE plugin for transaction?

To do it through Event Espresso it would need to be done as a registration which at a minimum will require name and email address which can be done through the front end or admin but will be the same as just registering onto the event itself as a normal visitor.

We don’t have an POS/Terminal add-on to allow for just straight card payments which sounds like what you are using.

And if we continue our current way of selling tickets at the door, how can they be added as attendee in EE for reporting purposes?

EE doesn’t allow for registration with no contact details so if you wanted to add these into to EE you would need to add a batch of registrations using a dummy contact. For example if you have 25 POS sales adjust wanted to track the additional 25 ‘sold’ tickets you can create a group booking, selecting 25 tickets and register using a fake name and email (one that you are aware of for use in these situations) and mark them all Approved.

Can you give me more information on group bookings? I can’t seem to find this functionality. Or are you referring to a registration with multiple registrants?

Yes, by group book I’m just referring to selecting multiple tickets on the ticket selector at one.

Say a qty of 50 for 1 ticket (or even a combination of different ticket types), that is a group booking of 50.
