September 27, 2012 at 12:20 pm Here it says I have a new update: There is a new version of Event Espresso available. View What’s New with version 3.1.27.1.P. You need a valid Site License Key to enable automatic upgrades. Your current membership level does not allow automatic upgrades on more than one domain. Please log into your account to manage your Site License Keys or purchase a support license now. Then when I try to update it, I get: The update process is starting. This process may take a while on some hosts, so please be patient. Enabling Maintenance mode… An error occurred while updating Event Espresso: Update package not available.. Disabling Maintenance mode… All updates have been completed. Help? |
September 27, 2012 at 12:31 pm Hi Margo, I’ve reset your license key but I’m not convinced that is the problem. But can you try downloading and installing it again and let us know how it goes? |
Okay, Or, do I go to my current version, past the new lic key no., and try to update the plugin? I just don’t want to mess anything up 🙂 Thanks for help, |
Margo, You should deactivate the old version of Event Espresso (do not delete it until you are sure the new version is working as expected), then install and activate the new version. Then you should enter the license key. |

I am also having this problem. I’m getting the same message “You need a valid Site License Key to enable automatic upgrades. Your current membership level does not allow automatic upgrades on more than one domain. Please log into your account to manage your Site License Keys or purchase a support license now.” However I’m only using EE on one site. Installing the plugin… Destination folder already exists. /home/rydebusi/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/ Plugin install failed. I am stuck. What can I do? I deactivitated the earlier version but didn’t delete it. How can have access to automatic updates? |
Okay, so I tried that and got the message Plugin install failed. |
@Sabrina I have reset your licence, please remove the licence key from Event Espresso > General settings, save, then add the key from your account page and save. The upload error is because the old plugin and new plugin have the same folder name. As such the old one would need to be deleted or renamed prior to installing the new one. With the licence reset the auto updates should kick in now @Margo You are likely to be experiencing the same thing. As the licence has been reset already it should allow auto updates. If not let us know and provide login details via https://eventespresso.com/contact/ Choose the “I am sending login info as requested” option and fill out the form |

I am getting that same message. “You need a valid Site License Key to enable automatic upgrades. Your current membership level does not allow automatic upgrades on more than one domain. Please log into your account to manage your Site License Keys or purchase a support license now.” |

September 28, 2012 at 11:09 am Well, I started to do the last instructions and just thought I’d try to update it as it was, one more time. All of a sudden, updated perfectly. Weird. But relieved 🙂 Thanks so much for all of your help! |
@Katherine I reset your licence, please remove the key in Event Espresso > General Settings, save and then add it again and save. Let me know if it works/doesnt work. |
I am getting the same message not sure what the issue is, would someone be able to reset my licence key so I could try and see if that solves it? |
@rmorrell This has been reset for you. I am closing this thread down, please start a new one if the problem persists. Thanks |
