The Plugin has completely disappeared from the backend of my website: http://kincumberanglican.com/

I can still see what i’m assuming is some or all of the plugin files on cPanel. And i tried re-installing the plugin and it said “Destination folder already exists. /home/kincumber/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/
Plugin install failed.”

Any ideas? I’ve lost some events and some registrations.

Does the plugin show up in your All Plugins view?

Would there be a chance that you moved any files out of the plugin directory?

You could always delete the files on your server via FTP and then reinstall.

Your data should remain intact in your database, even if you remove the files and reinstall.

Thanks for posting Jeff 🙂

Any ideas? I’ve lost some events and some registrations.

How do you know you’ve lost events and registrations? Is EE currently active?

The reason I’m asking is you mentioned its disappeared and from this:

I can still see what i’m assuming is some or all of the plugin files on cPanel. And i tried re-installing the plugin and it said “Destination folder already exists./wp-content/plugins/event-espresso-core-reg/
Plugin install failed.”

It sounds like there was an issue during the update, which would simply de-activate EE (but the directory and any files within it can remain which is preventing you from re-installing.

However that would NOT lose any events/registrations from within the admin, as they are saved to the database not within the plugin files.

To get EE back up and running use cPanel to navigate to /wp-content/plugins/

You’ll find a folder called event-espresso-core-reg

Rename that to anything else, for example event-espresso-core-reg-temp

(This can be tidied up late and removed, but for now just remove it in-case it has any clues as to what has happened)

Now download the latest version of EE from your account page and install it via Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add New -> Upload plugin.

EE should re-install, activate it and confirm if your events are still there.

Thanks Tony and Jeff.

I said I’d lost registrations and events because there was no access to them or the plugin from inside wordpress.

Thanks so much though, that’s all sorted now.

Can I just delete the -core-red-temp folder now?

Ah, ok I understand now.

If everything is working as expected now then yes you can just remove the core-reg-temp folder.
