If you are seeing errors with the update notifications, no need to worry. Most of the time, this can be resolved by deleting old copies of Event Espresso and the add-ons that might be lying around. Also, verify that you have the license key correctly entered on the General Settings screen. You might need to get the key reset if the key was entered on another site. Watch this video for a few more tips: |

We have combined domain names. Our previous site, http://www.domain.com, was not WP compatible, so we purchased a second domain name http://www.domainregistration.com to run WP and the EE plugin. Now our original site is getting upgraded to be compatible with WP and EE. I have moved everything over, including updating our account with the correct url on our EE account. I am getting the error above, there are no old add-ons lying around. I think I might need to get the key reset. Can you help me with this? |
It should be all set to move the key from one to the other. |

The installation guide says “If you are upgrading from the free version, you will need to run the upgrade script located in the “Help/support” tab just under the “Events Espresso” tab of your WordPress admin.” But there’s no such option!!! Does that mean we have to completely remove the free version, losing all the current registrations? Help! |
You shouldn’t need to do this if you’re updating from a more recent lite version. Deactivate the lite version first, manually update to the paid version following this guide: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/updating-event-espresso/ Then delete the lite version. |

I have followed all instructions and am still receiving the following error: |
I’ve reset your license. Let me know if you continue to have issues. |

I have had issues about 2 months ago about being able to log into the support section; not allowing me to use my upgrades and using the auto update. Apparently it was because of a new website you moved to. It was resolved by manually adding my info back. Just now I got this message: You have the correct Site License Key for Event Espresso but your current membership access only allows for automatic upgrades on one domain. Please log into your account to manage your Site License Keys or purchase a support license now. Can you please look into it? |
John, I have reset your license key. Please let me know if that does not work. |

Hi, Am having similar problems with upgrading to the recent upgrades for event ticket and event espresso: This is the error am getting: “There is an automatic update for Event Espresso available but your Site License Key has not been set.” Please help. Thanks. |
Hello Patricia, I have reset your license key also. Please let me know if that does not work. |
Thanks for your prompt response. It’s not working. Please help as the new updates are very important now that am about to take registrations on my website. Patricia. |
Patricia, Does the license key clear out of the field once you save it and refresh? |
Hi Jonathan, No it doesn’t clear. However, in EE its says in my account that its not active. Patricia. |
Patricia, I am sorry for the inconvenience. It is also showing on our end that it is not active. Will you, remove the license key, save it, then enter it and save again? |
I am also unable to update my EE plugin. In the plugins screen the following message appears next to the EE plugin: |
Luke, I have reset your license key. |
Jonathan, No progress. |
Patricia, I’m sorry for the trouble. Can you send WordPress admin level log in credentials via the contact form on this page: https://eventespresso.com/contact/ Please select the “I am sending login info as requested” department form. |
Hi, I have sent the credentials as requested. Thanks. |
Patricia, I am looking at your site now. Will let you know what I find. |
Patricia, I’m not sure if maybe it was a caching issue, or what, but I was able to clear the site key, save, reenter the site key, then save again. It is showing active now. Sorry for the trouble! |

Jonathan, Thanks. But now after updating the ticket add on and then clicking on the ticket templates am getting this fatal errors: Warning: require_once(/home/cim31/public_html/dms/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-list-table.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/cim31/public_html/dms/wp-content/themes/wpthemegenerator_6113980531615822012102/functions/class-tgm-plugin-activation.php on line 989 Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/cim31/public_html/dms/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-list-table.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php52/pear’) in /home/cim31/public_html/dms/wp-content/themes/wpthemegenerator_6113980531615822012102/functions/class-tgm-plugin-activation.php on line 989 |
Patricia, I will login and take another look at your setup. |
Patricia, It appears that you may have reset your admin password. Will you send it to us again? https://eventespresso.com/contact/ |

Hi Jonathan, Thanks for your efforts. Now that I have reinstalled WordPress, it means my ticket add on update is not current (am not getting any update notification of the ticket add on)Can I download a clean ticket add on from my EE account?hope its current in EE? |
Patricia, Sorry for the inconvenience. We rolled back the updates from yesterday, because we were having major issues with it. That included the Ticketing add on update. The current version is 2.0.7. We will be releasing an update to fix the problems we found yesterday. |
