I just bought EE4. After installing the plugin I get the following message:
Event Espresso recommends PHP version 5.4.44 or greater for optimal performance. You are currently running version 5.4.43.
In order to update your version of PHP, you will need to contact your current hosting provider.

I contacted my hosting provider which is Bluehost but thay toldme that since i was on a shared hosting plan, that I have to wait until they get around to updating php.
My question is if I am going to be able to fully use EE4 and all of its features with my current version of php?

Thanks

Tony

Hi there,

Yes you can use use all of the EE4 features.

We recommend the latest stable version of PHP but it isn’t required to run, the difference between 5.4.43 and 5.4.44 is security fixes (which is why we recommend the latest) but it won’t prevent your from running EE at all.

If you do run into any problems just post up and we can investigate although I highly doubt you’ll run into issues due to your PHP version currently.

Yes, we make those recommendations partly for security reasons. Event Espresso 4 will function on PHP 5.4.43 just fine. That said, you might run into some issues with Bluehost shared hosting because they limit the number of JOINS on a query. A VPS or another shared host may work out better for you in the long run.
