For our events, the person registering attendees is almost always an administrative person, who does not actually attend the event. For example, imagine a secretary registering 10 employees a conference.
We have tried EE3 and it appears that the plugin was developed with the assumption that the person registering is the primary attendee, which has been quite a headache for us. We have tried workarounds and support tickets, but each time one thing is fixed, it reveals more problems.
The behavior in Event Espresso 4 is the same as Event Espresso 3.
However, we are discussing some options for handling this differently. One idea is to have a checkbox option that would set the primary registrant as the attendee/registrant by default — otherwise if that checkbox is unchecked, then it would collect information for the payee separately.
However, nothing is set in stone yet as this would affect the messages system that sends out notifications.
What you’ve described sounds perfect. A simple toggle mechanism to say whether or not the registrant is also attending the event.
Is there any way that we can fast track this feature? For instance, could we sponsor some of the development fees for this, or are we better off approaching an independent Event Espresso developer to add this functionality.
I had a look at the sponsor page, and the link on that page for more info and your hourly development rate. Since we’re not plugin developers, I don’t know how much time or money something like this would cost. For instance, if we said $500, would it be done next week or next year? How does the process/place in the queue work?
Hi Dan, I’ll ask one of our co-founders to follow up with you via email. You should hear back by tomorrow with more information.
Thanks again
