Hi

we want to have a user role besides the administrator that can create events but not publish the events. In the user role capabilities we did not check “pubish_events”. Nonetheless all events are published when saved by users with this role.

Screenshot of user role capabilities:

What am I doing wrong? Or is this a bug?

Roles and permissions add on (basic) is installed.

Thanks
Patrick

Hi Patrick,

publish_events is related to publishing an “event” custom post types, so that specific capability would not be related to publishing an event (not the custom post type).

What you’re looking to do is a feature that is included with the Roles and Permissions Pro add-on. There is an event manager role that has an option that can be set to require admin approval. What happens then is the event will go to draft status after they save it.
