Hi support,
In my privacy statement I’ve stated not to store personal details longer than neccesary. In my case that means that, after 24 months, I want to permanently delete contact details of attendees. I understand that I first have to (manually) delete the transaction details and event details so the contact does not have any relations anymore in the database. After I’ve done the previous the contacts show up in the contact list with [# Reg: 0]. So far so good!
But then when I can not delete the contact permanently. That option is not available. This means I can not comply with the the EU’s data protection law: The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). That is not an option.
There I have a feature request: please make it possible to manually permanently delete contacts that are not related (anymore) to an event or a transaction (payment).
There is no use to store contact details like phone numbers, email addresses for years and years and years …

Hi Marco,
Apologies, I should have updated your post about this earlier.
Right now we have GDPR compliance through WordPress’s own GDPR process in Dashboard -> Tools -> Erase Personal Data. Adding the email address of the registrant there and then proceeding through the request will also anonymize the EE data related to that contact.
However, I have also created a ticket to discuss the possibility of adding a separate deleted function within Event Espresso to delete the contact from within EE itself if there are 0 registrations assigned to it.
