People Add-on Great!, BUT what about per event payment support!

Hi Guys,
A high priority for us right now is the ability to support concurrent events, and to do this we need the ability to support a different paypal payment account for each event. We enjoyed this feature in EE3, and the lack of this in EE4 is a big limitation for us.

Going back to EE3 is really not an option.

Does the single license support a multisite configuration to support separate Paypal payment accounts as a workaround until you have implemented separate payments for different events?

I know others are very interested in this capability, can you provide some kind of time frame so that I can let my management know and we can plan accordingly.
Also please let me know if this is not on the dev calendar, as I need to know this also so if necessary we can make the right decisions for the business moving forward.

This is a problem for us, because we run events for different departments, and also host events for partners. Money tends to be a sensitive issue, as does the responsibility for payment collection. The ability to separate payments so that they are not intermingled is an important feature. We are having to intermingle payments for two separate events at the moment.

Should you have any questions regarding the importance of this please call me.

Hi, a support license would be needed for each site on a multi-site install.

We do have an open feature request but it is not currently scheduled at this time. I’ll add additional feedback to that feature request.

Thanks Lorenzo,

Perhaps you could put up a voting option in the forum to allow customers to vote on new features as a way to provide support for product development prioritization.

Also, how about scheduling a webcast with existing customers where you can talk about product directions, and get direct feedback from customers. Perhaps do this twice each year.

Thanks

Hi, we currently collect feedback via the support forums, our user survey, and a couple other sources such as pre-sales calls.

The difficult part is prioritizing since we are a small team with limited resources. For example, the promotions add-on is highly requested and so is a multiple events registration add-on for Event Espresso 4. At the same time, we have requests for new payment gateways and some other features such as waitlists.

With that mentioned, I do think this will be added but I’m not sure of when.

Thanks Lorenzo,

That’s why a voting option can be so helpful, the features that get the highest number of votes set the priority.

Will be holding my breath that somebody finds a workaround soon.

Hi kcray,

You can set a different PayPal account for each event in EE4 much the same way that you did in EE3, by setting a meta key in the event editor. EE4’s PayPal gateway has a filter that lets you programmatically change any of the variables that get sent to PayPal.

There’s some example code in our Event Espresso code snippets repository here:

https://github.com/eventespresso/ee-code-snippet-library/blob/master/checkout/jf_ee_paypal_account_meta_key_override.php

Please note, the code doesn’t run if Multi Event Registration is active. This is because if more than one event is in the cart, then one PayPal account would get all the money for the transaction.
