paypal_pro payment method file could not be found message after upgrade to EE4

I just upgraded from EE3 to EE4 today. I have the PayPal Standard option set up, and PayPal Pro is not activated. How ever, I keep getting a pop-up message that says “The requested paypal_pro payment method file could not be found or is not readable due to file permissions.” I don’t think I should be requesting a paypal-pro method file if I’m using Standard. How can I get rid of this issue?

Hi there,

How did you install Event Espresso 4, via FTP or through the plugins menu?

Do you have any gateways within /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways/?

I installed it through the plugins menu. It’s at WP Engine, so I’ll have to get the FTP login in order to look.

Since your site is hosted on WPEngine, it may help to go to your WP Dashboard > WP Engine > General Settings, then click on the “Reset File Permissions” button.
