I’ve been trying to setup Paypal Standard with EE4 to no avail. My event is setup, and I’ve tried following some of the suggestions within the site/forum. IPN is setup, Auto Return set, all pages are visible etc.

Two issues arise when updating the Paypal Standard Options:
(1) This error message appears – “An error has occurred:
Payment method of type Paypal Standard was not saved because there were validation errors. They have been marked in the form Payments_Admin_Page – _update_payment_method – 767”

(2) This Error also appears under the Button URL – “That URL seems to be broken. Please enter a valid URL” despite my never having changed or adjusted this.

As a result, any changes made to Paypal Standard in EE4 are not saved when updating. When testing the event payment process, Paypal produces this error: “Some required information is missing or incomplete. Please correct your entries and try again.”

I’ve also tried the “Event Espresso Requirements” plugin, and discovered that nearly everything passes with the exception of two errors under “Recommended Apache Modules”, and “Apache security”.

Any help or advice would be welcome.
Thank You

Josh

Hi there,

There are two fields on the PayPal Standard settings form that are required (and can potentially fail validation if there is nothing input for them). I imagine that you’re filling these out, so there may be another script that’s conflicting with the form validation.

You can rule out potential conflicts one by one:
1) A theme conflict. You can rule this out by temporarily switching to the default WordPress theme. Then you go save the Payment settings page.
2) A plugin conflict. You can rule this out by temporarily deactivating any other installed WordPress plugins. Then you go save the Payment settings page.

Hi Josh,

Thank’s for the help. Unfortunately, non of those suggestions worked. I deactivated all plugins with the exception of EE4, and also switched themes. The same problem occurs. In fact, this error message occurs for every payment option (Check, Paypal, Paypal Pro etc), and does not save any changes.

“An error has occurred:
Payment method of type Paypal Standard was not saved because there were validation errors. They have been marked in the form
Payments_Admin_Page – _update_payment_method – 767”

Any other suggestions?
Thanks
Joe

Hi Joe,

Is this a clean install or an upgrade from EE3 or even a previous version of EE4?

Did you install Event Espresso manually via FTP or using the Plugin Uploader?

Hi Tony,

I had downloaded a lite version of EE3 just to investigate the platform a little better. After that, the plugin was deleted and I went ahead and purchased EE4 and installed via plugin uploader.

Hello,

Could you please create a temporary WordPress admin login so we can take a closer look at this issue?

Please share that temporary login through the secure link below:

To prevent delays in troubleshooting, be sure to double check your information on the form before submitting.

The submit button for the form appears at the end of the form.

Again, please ensure that the temporary login works.

Thank you.
