Paypal Standard not charging GST anymore

I have had Paypal Standard and Stripe running together for months all with minimal problems. Usually its Stripe that messes up and I only notice once I see no transactions for a few days. This time it’s Paypal that has messed up and stopped charging GST. I have gone in and checked all settings and done multiple tests (tried with “Paypal Calulates Taxes – Yes & No) but still with the same outcome. Stripe is adding tax just fine so I cannot work it out. My tickets are marked as “this ticket is taxable” which adds 10% GST on.

Hi Sean,

The taxes option for PayPal means that taxes should be applied to the payment from the tax settings in your PayPal.com account.

Have you recently made any changes to the tax settings within your PayPal.com account?

No I haven’t made any changes to Paypal tax. How does it work with Stripe? I would much rather just have tax added in EE

How it works with Stripe (and PayPal by default) is the 10% tax amount is passed to the gateway by Event Espresso.

Ok, so I now have Paypal Calculates Taxes set to YES. I also went into Paypal and went Profile> My Selling Tools> GST > Set up GST Rates

It works ok now. Thanks
