Paypal Redirect Not Working Properly

Hello, I have added the Return URL in PayPal, sent a test registration, paid and was redirected back to my URL, but there is an error message that says:

ERROR: Sorry, there was an error. Please be sure JavaScript and Cookies are enabled in your browser and try again.

We’ve had customers say the redirect sent them to the Cancelled Registration page and they were confused as to why they landed there. So, I was testing to verify the return path and not received the error above, although the return URL is accurate on my test.

Please advise.

Hi,

I checked and could not find the error “Please be sure JavaScript and Cookies are enabled in your browser and try again.” within the code of the current version of Event Espresso 3, so I’m not sure where that error message could be coming from.

One thing you could do is review the Registration pages listed in Event Espresso > System Status and make sure they’re all OK, (they’ll have green text if they’re OK). Also, the Thank You page URL should be the page you get redirected to from PayPal. One thing to note: You do not need to set the return URL in your PayPal account because Event Espresso 3 passes that along to PayPal in the generated PayPal button.

One other thing: Please update your site to the current version of Event Espresso 3. The 3.1.37.12.p is a few versions back and there have been some important fixes included in .13.p and the .14.p versions.
