There seems to be a problem with my setup, because anytime I try to process a credit card via paypal pro, I always get a declined error. The problem is, that it never tells me WHY it was declined. I just paid for, and upgraded to the latest version hoping it’d fix the problem. My transaction page is visible to the world: https://designcorps.org/transactions/ The strange thing is that it was working perfectly last week before I upgraded wordpress to the latest version. Any thoughts??? Attention: Your transaction was declined for the following reason(s): Payment Overview Payment Status: Incomplete |

When I do it in sandbox mode I get: Attention: Your transaction was declined for the following reason(s): |

September 25, 2012 at 12:46 pm After looking at the log files, I see this error for each of the submissions: curl_error=SSL+connection+timeout Any clues here? C’mon I’m making this really easy on you guys. |

Disabled all plugins and tried again. Still not working. Checked with my host that the SSL cert is installed, and it is. PayPal Pro is all connected up fine, API credentials have been triple checked for accuracy. I’m more than willing to give my login & FTP info for some help and send log files…. help?? |
The regular PayPal IPN is working fine. I’m able to use that in the short term. I have the return URL set to my transaction page, and it processes the payment properly and marks it as paid. Still no luck getting the PayPal Pro up and running. Still waiting for help here… |

Bump… |
Do you have an SSL/HTTPS plugin installed? Sometimes these will cause the page to redirect several times and cause timeout issues if it is not properly configured. Also, check to make sure you don’t have any gateway files in your /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways directory. |
The entire site is under SSL, so no, I’m not using the SSL/HTTPS plugin. Everytime I used it, I would get a bunch of redirect loops (site wasn’t completely under SSL when I used this). I used your HTTPS/SSL documentation when I set up the plugin and it still wasn’t working. Tried using the WordPress HTTPS plugin and that failed too. https://eventespresso.com/wiki/espresso-sslhttps/ Yes, I checked that already. And no, there are no files under gateway. |
I’d be happy to give admin privs and ftp access if it will help. |
Bump again. |
Sorry. Missed this earlier. Have you tried updating your permalink settings? Just re-save those settings. Sometimes that helps to clear the redirects cache after updating WordPress. Please send WordPress admin level log in and FTP credentials via the contact form on this page: https://eventespresso.com/contact/ Select the “I am sending login info as requested” department form. |
Another thing to try is re-saving your payment gateway settings. Also, we also just released a minor update to .27.1. You might try updating to that version. |

Yes, I’ve tried permalinks, and I’ve resaved my payment gateway settings numerous times. In fact, I even generated a new API key and still not working. Going to try the update now. If it doesn’t work, I’ll send over my login info. thanks |

The update fixed my problem!!! Thank you, thank you!!! whew……. |
