We have ticket sales on our website. Once the customer has selected how many tickets they’d like and entered their details, our website diverts to PayPal to take the payment. On this PayPal page, there is the option down the bottom to cancel and return to our website. If the customer does this, we are still notified of a ticket sale (Registration Pending Payment), however there has been no transaction.
Is it possible to cancel the transaction entirely if the customer does this? If so, how do we do this?
We do not wish to accept registrations without immediate payment.
Registrations with a status of Pending Payment do not count towards your events ‘sold’ values but they do allow for users to return and pay via the link in the email they would have received (the Pending Payment email sent to the Primary Registrant) without needing to re-select the tickets and re-enter their details.
So although you are receiving the pending payment email, its intention is to inform you (the Event Admin) and the user that their registration is still pending and they need to pay. Currently you can not completely remove the registration at that point but as mentioned, the registration does not apply to the events sold limits so it does not have any effect on your events.
It is possible to change the link back to your site so that it sends the user to the registration cancelled page if you prefer that? However that still does not remove the registration from EE, it just clears the users current session.
Its one of the default pages created by Event Espresso on install.
By default it will be located at:
yourdomain.com/registration-cancelled/
