Paypal Payments Pro : "Merchant country not supported" for french?

Hi,

We have a problem with ‘paypal payments pro’ that can not be processed.

Configuration:
– Event Espresso 3.1.33.3.P
– Paypal Payments Pro activated and configured
– SSL certificate obtained (our host / provider is Gandi.net)

Language is french (.po installed and works fine).

In Espresso Event, I can register to an event. When I want to pay and fill the payment form (with the credit card datas), and click to submit, I get the error message above (merchant country not supported)

I have several questions:

1) As I said, each time we test a payment with correct credit card datas, we get this message:

Attention: Your transaction was declined for the following reason(s):
Error Code: 10565
Short Message: Merchant country unsupported.
Short Message: The merchant country is not supported.
Severity Code: Error

I’m confused with all the different names of paypal offers.

=> Is the Paypal Website Payments Pro (as it is configured in Event Espresso) working for France ?
=> Has someone here used it with success in France ?

2) At this time, it seems our SSL certificate (provided by Gandi and installed on our server) is not well taken into account.

=> IS the paypal problem related to SSL? Has anyone an idea about what is missing, or should be done or configured?

3) Also, when some random datas are typed into the credit card data form, I get an error message in english saying the card is not valid and I don’t see how to translate it (maybe it is sent by Paypal?)

Attention: Your transaction was declined for the following reason(s):
Error Code: 10527
Short Message: Invalid Data
Short Message: This transaction cannot be processed. Please enter a valid credit card number and type.
Severity Code: Error

Hi,

The link didnt really help as it was a free event. However, a few things to look at.

Your SSL certificate is not active (there is no HTTPS on your site that I can see). That is not resolved by PayPal or Event Espresso.

Have you got the correct account at PayPal? You will need a verified business account with PayPal it is necessary for using Pro – https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_onboarding-list-pro

Are you testing in Sandbox (a testing environment) or with live purchases?

Have you double checked your API credentials are correct in the Payment Settings page in Event Espresso?

Regarding the translation you can translate “Your transaction was declined for the following reason” via the following guide or function

However you cannot translate the error messages, these are received from PayPal.
