PayPal Payment Declined Message for event

Hello,

Trying to set up my first event with a new website. We’re using PayPal to process the payments. I have the API set up and that seems fine, but for some reason registrations keep getting set to payment pending, with a “Payment Declined” message sent to the registrant. This seems to be regardless of the payment method used. Both the registrant’s PayPal account and the org’s PayPal account show the transaction as being completed, but EE4 does not. Help?

Thanks,

Orysia

Hi Orysia,

If you view one of the transactions this has happened on it should show you a payment, and also the response from PayPal.

To find this go to Event Espresso -> Registrations.

Find the registration in question and click on the TXN Date field for it – http://take.ms/sYVxR

That will take you to the transaction for the registration. What do you have in the payment section and specifically the ‘Gateway Response’ – http://take.ms/MwWI3

Hi Tony,

Thanks for the guide. This is the message that I am seeing in the “Gateway Response” area:

10419, 10406; Express Checkout PayerID is missing., Transaction refused because of an invalid argument. See additional error messages for details.

I have the API Credentials in, but it sounds like I need something else?

Thanks again,

O

Looks like either your API credentials are either incomplete or wrong. Can you double check those?

We have some documentation on how you generate/find the API Credentials within your PayPal account here:

They looked the same, but I recopied the API credentials just to be safe. It looks like that fixed that issue, but now there’s a new one: When you select “View Full Order…” the receipt comes up, but the heading displays:

Do you want me to open a new thread?

This error:

[function.getimagesize]: http:// wrapper is disabled in the server configuration by allow_url_fopen=0

Means allow_url_fopen has been disabled on the server, I would recommend contacting your hosting provider and have them enable it on your site.
