Hello, I am having an issue where the payments are not getting marked as completed. I am on EE3. This has never been an issue before but after logging into Paypal it looks like IPN is turned off. I need to turn it on but to do so it is asking me for the return notification URL. How would I find that?

By default that will be your site’s /transactions/ page. You’ll find more information here:

Hello, I was able to enable IPN and then enter the return url but all registrations are still pending: https://www.screencast.com/t/Hde1jHJl04

Maybe I need to update the plugin? I cannot seem to find a place to download EE3 though and the one click update is failing.

Hello, I was able to enable IPN and then enter the return url but all registrations are still pending

Those will show pending as the registrations were made when IPN’s were disabled so PayPal wont have IPn’s queued for those, so nothing has been sent to your site.

You’ll need to confirm the payments in PayPal and manually mark those registrations complete.

PayPal often disable IPN’s if for some reason they are failing on your site so now that you have it enabled it would be a good idea to confirm they work correctly with a test payment or using sandbox.

Maybe I need to update the plugin? I cannot seem to find a place to download EE3 though and the one click update is failing.

You currently have an EE4 license which doesn’t have access to EE3.

I’m assuming you want to stick with EE3 currently?

(Note EE3 and EE4 are different systems and whilst we do pull as much info over from EE3 to EE4 when you switch EE4 is not ‘just an update’ to EE3 so I’m just making sure you are aware of that before trying).

ok yes i need ee3 instead can you update my account? I did go into paypal and enable ipn so that is fine. I checked their log as well and can see that the notifications are being sent. I have a feeling updating the plugin may do the trick as it has always worked fine over the years.

Hi,

If you go to your account page you can use the “Switch Your Support License” feature.

Alternatively, you can migrate your site to Event Espresso 4 by following this guide:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-upgrade-event-espresso/#migrate-to-event-espresso-4

OK I went to switch but it wants to charge me? Shouldnt the existing term apply?

It’s a pro-rated charge because the price of an Event Espresso 3 license is more than the price of an Event Espresso 4 license.
