Paypal not giving Guest Checkout option

We just noticed that event registrations are required to have a paypal account. Guest checkout somehow became disabled, although nothing has changed on our paypal account settings. We contacted paypal, and they mentioned that it’s something on EE end. I did confirm that Paypal account Optional is checked per this link: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/add-paypal-optional-message-registration-checkout/

Is there an issue I need to be aware of, or any updates/fixes I need to perform? Any help is greatly appreciated. Incase needed, the site is woodandwinedesign.com

Hi there,

I’m not really sure why PayPal would mention this is something we could set here, as far as I am aware there is basically one option we need to set that allows the possibility of the Guest Checkout option showing and thats:

'SOLUTIONTYPE' => 'Sole',

Which is something we already set on the request.

Now, I say the checkout may possibly show because it is all up to PayPal (which is why I’m confused by their response), with the above we are basically setting the Solution type to allow for Guest checkout and then PayPal determine if they will show the checkout option based on your account preference AND a risk assessment of the purchase/request/location and various other data.

In short, we basically say guest checkout is possible and they determine if they want to display the option or not, not Event Espresso.
