Paypal IPN and payment status not updating

Hi,

I’ve just started getting every registration made failing to update its payment status on receiving the Paypal IPN.

The IPN is being received and when it does the payment type is being set to Paypal but the payment staus itself is left as incomplete so confirmation emails are not being sent out.

I have added inthe simple transaction page template but no change. It was working fine previously and hte only change I had made was to remove the event espresso pages from the page cache of W3TC plugin. Since the error has started I’ve removed the plugin altogether but the issue remains.

May I ask about when did it stop working? The reason I ask is because PayPal is rolling out new security requirements and you can check with your host to see if your server meets the new requirements listed here:

It was only earlier today around 4 or 5 hours ago that its started doing this. Our hosting company is fasthosts and as far as I am aware nothing else has changed with them.

Nothing would have to change with your host for things to start failing all of a sudden, because PayPal is rolling out their requirements. It’s very much recommended to check with your host so you can avoid any potential downtime. Along with that here’s a list of troubleshooting steps you can follow:

Thanks for all your help with this I’ve final tracked the issue down and it was the host decided to start blocking the IPN messages. After numerous other issues with the hosting provider the solution to migrate to a new host has sorted it all out.
