We are asking clients for their API to enter into Event Espresso so they can get payments vs using Paypal Standard. Is there any security risks for them if the PayPal Express API becomes compromised?

Can you provide more details on what you mean please?
I’m not sure what you mean when you say ‘the PayPal Express API becomes compromised’, you mean if their API credentials are compromised rather than the API itself?
If another user has your PayPal API credentials they can perform any of the task available on the API, so its basically the same as any account information and should be kept secret.
