Paypal Error – This recipient is currently unable to receive money.

I have a one cent test event, and while everything looks right and the registration process works at the start when I click to pay with paypal the next page which says “This recipient is currently unable to receive money.”

Can someone please assist me? Thanks!

Hi Shane,

This sounds like there may be a problem with the seller’s PayPal account? Can you verify that this is a business PayPal account that is verified? I’d recommend double checking the PayPal ID that has been entered in Event Espresso>Payment settings.

Another thing you can do, instead of running 1 cent test transactions, you can set up a sandbox PayPal account to use for testing.
