I went to update my existing established credential when building a new event and your software refuses to connect up. It keep wants me to create a new PayPal account with the hookup questions when I could just simply past in the PayPal Compliance settings established in our account into the app and get on with it. Spent hours yesterday and again this morning. I hate it. PayPal and your software. There has to be an easier way to connect it to PayPal. I am fed up with your Payment section. Unsat |

Hi there, Are you referring to the PayPal Commerce payment method? In terms of onboarding, PayPal require oAuth to connect the site now and the previous methods using API credentials have been deprecated by them, so we have to move forward with the methods they require we use. However, connecting via oAuth should be easier than any other method. First, make sure you are not in Sandbox/debug mode, then click connect: https://monosnap.com/file/Qp9oJBdAVcQaA9K7q24JGVDTYaIrLJ In the modal that shows up, select if you are using just the Express checkout (the PayPal buttons) and or the credit/debit card fields: https://monosnap.com/file/4sQ3bPJPiAYnRL2FKNmOdpHFUnZTVm Then continue. You should see a screen like this: https://monosnap.com/file/hJxRvY7eHnAfyUjc85WHwLc7Ess81S Input your PayPal account email there and select the country for the account. The only time I’ve seen that page (It’s PayPal own login page directly from PayPal servers) try to create a new account at that point is if you’re connecting in Sandbox mode (in which case you need a sandbox account which is separate from your live account) or if there’s a typo in the email. So I’m assuming this is the point at which PayPal is asking you to create an account? For me it asks for the account password and the connection is done: https://monosnap.com/file/MGxA9ftWxtHGEsNJZlMlR3HnYwqvn5 (That last step is a screenshot from using a sandbox account, but the results should be the same either way). If PayPal is asking you to create an account we have a contact at PayPal we can send the details over to have them check what is happening their side if that helps? |
