Payment via Mastercard or Amex does not work

I am using Event Espresso – PayPal Express Checkout with Smart Buttons. Checkout returns an error message when paying with Mastercard or Amex. Visa and Discover works fine. This was tested using both live and sandbox PayPal credentials.

Hi there,

The above is basically an iFrame from PayPal, we don’t have any control over the output/features there.

Have you accepted the AMEX terms and conditions within your PayPal account? There is usually a different set of conditions you must accept to take Amex cards. Either way you’ll need to contact PayPal themselves to ask why the cards above could not be added to the account through that page, they should be able to provide more details.
