Hi guys,

My events are showing up as $0 after registration confirmation, so when the user selects any payment method it displays as $0, and if they select paypal it comes up as ‘your cart is empty’ The invoice also shows $0.00 due.

I upgraded to version 3.1.29.1 yesterday.

Please help urgently as we need to launch our website today!

Many thanks.
Ingrid.

You can test out an event registration here to see what I mean…

Hi Ingrid,

The link you posted took me to a coming soon page. Have you removed/updated the template files in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates? Please note that if If you customize and change the template code from the defaults we’ve created and tested, it becomes your job to maintain it.

Sorry Josh – I have now switched off the coming soon page.

No the files haven’t been removed, only merged with the new files to marry up.

I understand that it is out responsibility to maintain the site once we customize – but if the payment system doesn’t work then our investment in Event Espresso has been fruitless. Our customizations are very cosmetic and not complicated enough to prevent the payment system to work.

If you can provide any kind of advice it would be greatly appreciated.
Ingrid

Hi Ingrid,

It might help to explain that even if your customizations were cosmetic, the files that are in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates do contain functions that can and do change between versions.

There is definitely an old version of gateway_display.php in the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateway folder and this should be removed along with any other files in there or the payment system will not work.

If you continue to have issues after clearing out the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways folder, I can suggest temporarily re-naming the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates directory and running a test to help narrow down the issue. One change that I can see from looking at your site is the discount codes now are placed near the bottom of the form.

I am having the same problem, we use stripe and the charge is coming through as $0. We have not customized Events Espresso at all.

I have no files in the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates directory.

This happened when we upgraded to version 3.1.28.5.P.

You can see it by going to our training section and signing up for a course (its ok, running on test stripe keys so your card wont be charged 😉

Thanks,
Vinnie

Just to clarify – I need to remove EVERYTHING from the gateway folder?

Hi Ingrid,

After updating to the latest version of Event Espresso, there should not be any files from an older version in the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateway folder. Anything in there will override what is in the plugin and break the payment process.

@vinnie, can you start a new topic on this? I checked your site and didn’t see a Stripe option, only PayPal sandbox and invoice.

Hi Josh,

I disabled the STRIPE payment on my site after I discovered this. Would you like me to re-enable it?

That would be fine. Can you post the following details in a new topic so we can follow up with you there? This will help keep the forums more organized and we’ll be able to help you in a more timely manner.

Information we need:

1) Are there files in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates -or- /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways?
2) If so, what files are there
3) Please let us know which add-ons are installed and which version numbers for each of them.

Hi,

So I do have a separate topic here https://eventespresso.com/topic/no-results-44/

(note, I have no idea why the topic subject shows “no results…”. I noticed some other posts having the same topic, you may have an issue in your forum).

Thanks,
Vinnie
