Hi,
Have the multi event addon / members addon also.

Strange problem. – as soon as I click “Confirm and go to payment page” I enter the payments overview page to pay with the paypal link (image) but the payment status is set to complete within the users events management and also in the attendee report.

Payment Status: Completed [ View/Edit Payment ]
Transaction ID: N/A
Date Paid: N/A
Total Amount Owing: £8.95
Total Amount Paid to Date: £0.00

“Default Payment Status” is set to incomplete in General Settings?
This site was hoping to go live but only discovered this while doing the final testing.

Regards

Dave

Hi Dave,

Which versions of Event Espresso and the add-ons are active right now?

Can you also check within the event editor and look for the default payment setting in the event options? This will override the global setting that is set in the General options.

You mentioned Members / WP user integration is installed too. Which version is that one on?

Also, can you post a link to the registration page so that I can run a test?

Hi Dave,

In the future, please do not post log in credentials to a public forum.

Has anything been modified? This doesn’t look like a stock installation of Event Espresso.

Hi,

I have made a few formatting changes but I guess I can reinstall it and do all the formatting again.

Sorry about the logon but there was no website listed :/

Before you go through that, which changes were made?

Can you check in the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/logs directory for the paypal ipn log file and check for errors?

It doesn’t get to the paypal point before it registers complete.
Off the top of my head all I have done is removed the function to cancel an event.

I am going to reinstall it after I have backed it up.

Reinstalled all the plugins – not made any changes but still shows the item completed.

Dave Wilkinson

getting this error;
Event Espresso attendee data needs to be updated

Should I follow the https://eventespresso.com/topic/update-attendee-data-error-message/ instrutions?

If I dont use the shopping cart function the payment status is correct – i.e. Incomplete.

But if I use the multi event plugin I get it showing complete when I click the “Confirm and go to payment page”

but not the incomplete item, just the new item i had added to cart

Hi Dave,

Do you have any templates in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates? Specifically any of the multi-registration or shopping_cart.php templates?

The “Need to update attendees” issue may be from downgrading to 28.3, which we don’t recommend doing because 28.4 fixed a critical bug. There is a button on the support page that you can navigate to by going to Event Espresso>Support in the sidebar navigation of your site’s admin that will update the attendees.

Another thing to check is the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways directory. If there are files there from an older version, it will cause issues on the checkout page.

Both folders are empty.

I will do the update to 28.5 but I am sure that this was the version that worked correctly :/

Upgraded to 28.5 – seems to be working correctly.
Cart items showing incomplete. 🙂

Sorry to say – its intermittent. sometimes it will show complete. others incomplete.

I will keep looking but its definitely when its added to the cart and you get to the “post_multi_attendee” page

Do you have any of the events set up to have a default payment status of “Complete”?

Hi made an event, default payment left as “no change” – added to cart, processed to the point of payment – payment shows as complete.

Deleted the attendee.

Same event, changed default payment set as “incomplete” – added to cart, processed to the point of payment – again payment shows as complete.

Still confused.

If i follow the who transaction through and pay via paypal then i look at the attendees report i see its complete with my paypal transaction.

Hi Dave,

This sounds like there may be some session variables that aren’t getting cleared out from an earlier test. Can you try either of these:

1) You can start with a new registration in a new “incognito” window (in the Chrome browser) or Start Private Browsing (in Firefox) and run a test registration.

2) You can navigate to the page that has the espresso_cancelled shortcode, and this will clear out the session variables from any previous tests.
