We have been having issues with our payment page. This is what it looks like:
http://scosag.org/?page_id=213

There is a huge gap between the top of the box and the Paypal link. The only thing in that space is the symbol (a square with an arrow) that indicates an external link. When I add the “check/money order” option, it creates two additional empty boxes above and below it.

I have looked through various options and cannot seem to find what is causing this issue. I appreciate your help.

I apologize. That link will take you to the page for registration.

This is what the page looks like:

Thanks!

Hi Lori,

If you look over to the right side bar, you’ll notice that the same thing is happening there with the other PayPal button.

The PayPal button has hidden inputs, and some themes will alter the_content so that each new line will get a break tag.

You can rule out whether this is the theme that’s doing this by activating the twentyeleven theme and running a test registration.

It’s possible that it’s the [raw] shortcode that some themes add that is doing this. In which case, you could try wrapping the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] within the raw short tag like this:

[raw][ESPRESSO_EVENTS][/raw]

Josh,

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, I don’t think I quite understand where to edit the shortcode. How do I navigate to get to the editor?

Hi Lori,

Are you logged in as an admin? If so, you can edit the page that has the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode on it. Here is a direct link to the page that has the shortcode on it:

Josh,

I’ve tried all your suggestions so far. I did find that I was able to remove the space above the Paypal button on the sidebar, but it still doesn’t work on the event registration page.
I right-clicked and used the “view source” option on the messed up payment page, and found what the problem was, but I don’t know how to access that to edit the code.
Thank you again for your help.

Hi there,

Can you try running a test registration with the default (twentyeleven) WordPress theme so we can narrow the cause of this? You can switch themes without affecting the front-end of the site by using the theme test drive plugin.
