Seem to be getting these errors randomly, and they seem to correct themself. Several people have told me they just tried numerous times and it eventually worked.

Also, some people are being charged, but then receiving an email saying that they have not been (but money is drafted from account)

I really need some serious help to diagnose what is going on here – our show is approaching and this will become a very big problem — how can I get it?

Hi Allen,

That may be an error on PayPal’s end, which isn’t something we cannot diagnose because we do not have access to PayPal’s servers.

What you could do is switch your site to use PayPal’s newer API which is available with the PayPal Express with Smart buttons add-on. It’s available to download from your account page and its set up guide can be followed here:

ok, I just downloaded and installed as instructed… I’m confused as to why I have 3 different Paypal things now … do you have a page explaining the difference between PayPal Express, PayPal Pro, and this new thing? Do I need all three?

Also – I would like to be able to make the “Download Invoice” option only available for certain “Events” … is that possible? We run a tradeshow with several tournaments. I use EE for registration for all events, plus to allow Exhibitors to register a booth (sort of a work-around I guess) … I would like to allow Exhibitors to pay by invoice, but I don’t want players to have that option. http://www.SuperBilliardsExpo.com if you wanna see what I’ve got going on … but I think you know already, haha

PayPal Express is offsite, PayPal Pro is onsite, and the Smart buttons is considered a hybrid where you get the best of the older two options. You only need one and I’d recommend using the Smart buttons option in place of the other two.

It’s possible to set this up on a site that doesn’t have the Multi Event Registration add-on. Since your site uses Multi Event Registration, I’m afraid it’s not possible because any combination of events could be in the cart.

Ok, I kind of suspected that …
Another question: If I were to use NinjaForms or WooCommerce to capture Exhibitor Registration and Payments, would that pose a problem? I know they both would not get processed in the same cart- but that is ok. Players and Exhibitors are mostly mutually exclusive.

Hi there,

Neither NinjaForms or WooCommerce submissions (or anything other than EE registrations using EE) would be tracked within Event Espresso so it depends if that’s a problem for you or not?

Other than that running both at the same time separately is fine.
