"Payment Declined" for amex

Hi guys,

Your system allows users to use Amex correct? It is declining payments from amex cards right now.

I assume you are using authorize.net, correct? If so, you need to get authorization from your authorize.net to process Amex cards.

We are able to process Amex cards when we go log into authorize.net and make a transaction…. So authorize.net is allowing us to make amex transactions.

Hi Seth,

So I’m not sure if we are on the same page or not.. So let me break it down a bit..

1.We are using Authorize.net
2.When a client calls about Amex not going through, the client logs into authorize.net and does the transaction.

So Authorize.net is accepting Amex, so Event Espresso should automatically run these cards correctly right?

Please let me know if you have had this problem, and or anything that we can do. Our client is pressuring us to resolve this.

Is it one card that you are testing with or several different cards? Have you tried using the sandbox/development server?

Also, have you tried asking Authorize.net to look into the why the cards were declined? They can usually pinpoint the exact problem with the card and why it was declined. That has helped me in the past with our website when this happens.

you not only have to have amex set up with authorize.net, but also with your merchant account provider, such as your bank.
What is it saying in the transaction details in wp-content/uploads/espresso/logs/espresso_log.txt?
