We had an event take place in July 2018 with over 3,000 registrations. When I export a filtered CSV report for this event, the Check-Ins column shows “0” all the way down the list. We used the ticket scanning add-on with our ticket scanners at the time of the event.
My question is what happened to the data or what could have went wrong?
If you go into the Check in list table (in Event Espresso > Registrations > Event Check-In) then select that event. Do any of the registrations there show they’re checked in?
You could check the database and look at what’s in the _esp_checkin table. If there are no checkins with timestamps from the day the event occurred, then either the checkins were not written to the database or if they were, they’ve since been deleted. If you have a database backup close to the day after the event you can compare with the backup as well.
It depends on your server. Some hosts will have phpmyadmin installed and available through the control panel. WPEngine has that right available from the WPEngine Dashboard.
If those options are not available you can install a WordPress plugin that has similar utility. For example you could install the ARI Adminer plugin via your WP plugins dashboard page.
If you’re not taking regular backups of your site, then the time to start doing that is now. I can recommend the VaultPress service for setting up backups. If you have no backups available, you could check with your web host to see if they’ve been taking backups of the website.
