Pass a tag to mailchimp

I’m currently sending the event date parameter to Mailchimp when people register via EE. However, because I have multiple events happening on different topics, many people register for several events at once, so segmenting them by event date is not working anymore since the parameter is getting overwritten when they register for a new event.

Since I need to send event specific emails, I need to be able to segment the participants in Mailchimp better. Is there a way to pass a pre-defined tag to Mailchimp?

Hi there,

I checked into this and there isn’t currently, but I can look into adding an action that can be used to hook into the subscribe call and do whatever you need to from there.

So to clarify, you want to tag the contacts using the standard MailChimp tagging system: https://mailchimp.com/help/getting-started-tags/

But obviously, want a way to set the tag within the event itself somewhere and set it automatically when a user is subscribed?

Yes, I wanted to use their standard tags to be able to differentiate to which events people subscribed.
It would be useful to set up the tag within the event. Maybe the easiest would even be that it can pick up the event date, for example, and pass it on as a tag instead of an actual date (since the date gets overwritten if the person signs up for multiple events).
