On Attendees > Payment details there is the option to add a payment made towards the amount due. After doing this and sending the invoice/payment reminder, the [payment_url] shows the original amount due rather than the balance. However, the pdf invoice, correctly shows the Amount Paid and Total due. Is there a way to send an attendee a link that allows them to make an online payment of the balance due?
Event Espresso doesn’t currently have a feature that makes it possible to automatically track partial payments. You could handle this manually by including a link to a page that has a PayPal button or a Stripe button and collect the balance due.
Thanks Josh. It looks like you’re almost there with tracking partial payments. Perhaps if there was a shortcode for balance due, that could be dropped into an email together with a link to your suggestion of a generic payment page. At least they would then know the amount they need to pay. Or, I suppose we could just send them the pdf invoice, since that does list amount paid and amount due.
There is a shortcode that you can add to the Event Espresso email that will automatically add a link to download the invoice. You’ll need to have the invoice payment option active for this to work:
