Has anyone had a decent update regarding this? – It is something which is becoming in a high demand since 2014 and there does not seem to be any concrete movement with this?
It is something we require and we are potentially looking at developing the feature ourselves but we need to know more information about a full list of possible Hooks which we can use to implement this feature without touching EE4 core code.
We have seen the list of work-around but these are crude and not very elegant.
Any update would be much appreciated.

Hey there,
We have made significant progress towards this in the frontend, but we’re still a little ways off from providing a usable admin interface.
The frontend basically requires a single input for the registrant to enter payment amount, then we can set that as the payable amount, but how that gets managed in the admin is the issue. Ie: we need some controls for displaying that text field, possibly setting a min amount. This could be controlled by filters to start with. However, I can’t tell you what filters you will need to accomplish this, but I can tell you that all of our filters are prefixed with ‘FHEE’. So a search in the code should help you find the specific filters you may need.
Also, we are willing to consider sponsorship for this development, if you are interested in having our development team extend this feature.
