Paid Registration Issue

  1. Since the last update – 3.1.27.P, my paid events show as free, that is, when you register, the amount shows as $0 (even though a price is set for the event) and the customer is passed to the confirmation page without being sent to the payment gateway. Attendees show up as paid (amt $0) and get assigned their conf. number. This is becoming very confusing.
  2. Once this is fixed, is there a way to require payment BEFORE an attendee is registered. We have had this issue for years using EE. People register and keep a spot and then never pay – don’t have money etc. We really need it to be more ‘shopping-cartish’ – you can’t complete your order and reserve a seat unless you pay for it.

Hi Ryan,

I’m looking into issue #1. Has any code been modified via the custom files add-on or one of the template files? Either in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates or /wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/templates? Normally there is a Price label or a price selector dropdown on the registration page, but when I view this page, there isn’t any pricing displayed:
http://dentalstaffinstitute.com/apply-online/?ee=33

There should be a price just below where it lists the dates and time of the event. If it’s not there, it will not get passed into the registration form. If there have been any customizations made to pricing functions or price display in the templates, at they very least they these should be compared to a freshly downloaded copy of Event Espresso.

Also, if you are running any add-ons (like the members/wp user integration add-on) these need to be updated too.

If I view the source of the page, the event_prices paragraph is empty:
<p class="event_prices"></p>

This should have some content contained within.

With point number 2, you can set the default registration status to “incomplete” If it’s set to incomplete, they can start the registration process and pay later. Their seat will not be reserved until the payment is complete.

Hi Ryan,

I received a forwarded version of your reply via the email so I can follow up here.

I would recommend checking the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates directory to be sure that there are not any files in there. If there are files in there, you can rename the directory to /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templatesOLD by using the host’s control panel file manager or by using an FTP client.

The other thing to check is to make sure that all the add-ons are up to date. If you have the latest version of Event Espresso installed, you’ll also need to make sure you have the very latest version of the add ons installed. These can all be downloaded from your account page.

Hi,

I have the same problem of issue No.1 as Ryan and your solutions don’t seem to work.

All my add on are up to date and there are no files in the templates folder either.

Really this is worrying for such a core error issue.

2.How do I remove EE credits on the ticket (powered by.. )? isn’t it part of benefit of a paid business package for no white labels.?

Hi Patricia,

I can help you out with this. Can you give us a link to the page where this is happening so we can investigate further?

We currently do not have a ‘white-label’ version of the ticketing add-on, but you can remove the “Powered by Event Espresso” credits on the ticket by removing them from the ticket templates. The powered by message is on line 80 of espresso-ticketing/templates/index.php. If you are making changes to the templates everything in the templates folder should be copied to wp-content/uploads/espresso/tickets/templates so you will not lose your changes when the software gets updated. Please see this guide for more information about customizing the ticketing templates:

Thank you very much for your impressive speedy response.Much appreciated.

I have a multiple paid event. There are 2 options after completing the registration part:

1.Register now takes visitors to the thank you confirmation page without making any payments.

However,

2.The Add to Cart seems to be working well.they are taken through the entire payments smoothly.

Here is the link: http://cim.co.ke/dms/main-registration/

How can i remove the registration option and have only the Add to Cart?
is it possible?

Thanks!

Hi Patricia,

For issue #1, do you have the event set to “Attendee Pre-appoval required”? If so, you can set it to not be required, then the standard registration form will take them to the payment page.

If you really want to make it so the all the event registrations go through the cart, you can set “Display registration form” to no. If you go that route, you may find a few tips in this guide to be helpful:

Hi Josh,

Thanks again.
All is working well now.Great!

And in the invoice it shows United States of America in the Company Details…

What you could do is set the organization options to use “No county selected”, then it will display the currency to US Dollars.

After you do that, in the Payment settings under Invoice settings, you can update the Address to Send Payment field to include Kenya.
