September 10, 2024 at 11:28 am My events used to load into a custom template that I built, but that has somehow disappeared. I would like to recreate the template, but I can’t figure out what file I need to copy and edit. Does EE5 still allow for custom theming? Here is my page where the site header is missing and the data is repeated twice. I can’t find what file it’s using to try and fix the design. https://acornhill.org/events/adult-education-evening-with-liz-hagerman/ |

Hi there,
Yes, EE events are a custom post type within WordPress and we haven’t changed how they load within the theme (in terms of templating) in a long time.
It will follow the standard WP template hierarchy: https://developer.wordpress.org/themes/basics/template-hierarchy/ So in terms of WP template files: {custom template set on individual events} However your using Avada, which also has its own templating system so the above may not apply. Have you recently update the Avada Child theme? If so, your custom template likely sat within that, do you have a backup that may contain the previous template? |

Just installed EE and discovered it has zero out of the box compatibility with AVADA which is surprising and not in line with all of EE competitors… I’ve seen numerous AVADA threads for specific issues. AVADA IS the top selling theme for WordPress and it would be in the best interest of EE to fully support it. Is there documentation to make EE work with AVADA? I just don’t want to waste my time trying to figure this out if you don’t have the documentation because I can use a competitor that natively supports AVADA. |
