My website is functioning normally until a user tries to click on the option to register for an event. Then, when the user clicks on the register button for any event, the website returns a “page not found” error message. When I spoke to my hosting provider, GoDaddy, they told me to ask EventEspresso if the plugin works with PHP v8.0. Is it possible that this is caused by the upgrade to PHP 8.0? If not, how can we determine the issue and fix it?

Hi Bob,
On your site please go to Dashboard -> Settings -> Permalinks.
You don’t actually need to do anything on that page, but if you want to be sure, just make no changes and click save to flush permalinks.
Do the event links work now?

Tony, your suggestion worked. Why was this necessary? Is there a bug that is fixed in a recent release?

There are plenty of reasons why you can get a broken permalinks issue in WordPress.
New plugin installation. The new plugins you install may interfere with your .htaccess file.
Restoring a backup or migrating WordPress. You recently restored a backup or switched your site to a new domain or server.
Updates. Problems with incompatibility after updating plugins, themes, or WordPress core.
Changes in .htaccess file. Updating, or altering your .htaccess file incorrectly.

It’s a good practice to always resave permalinks whenever you did this thing in your site.
